In stone CNC machining, precision in workholding is critical for accurate cutting, polishing, and material stability. Using the wrong suction cup height can lead to:
❌ Uneven work surfaces, affecting cutting accuracy.
❌ Poor vacuum seal, increasing the risk of material shifting.
❌ Misalignment between multiple pods, reducing CNC efficiency.
With IMS ROCK SOLID suction cups, it's essential to correctly measure and select the right height for your CNC machine setup.

✔ Vacuum the pod to the CNC machine table, ensuring a tight seal.
✔ Double-check that the pod is properly aligned to avoid miscalculations.
Pro Tip: Ensure the CNC worktable surface is clean and free of dust or debris for the best vacuum hold.
✔ Position the stone slab, quartz, granite, or glass directly on top of the suction cup.
✔ Activate the vacuum system to securely hold the material in place.
Pro Tip: Test the suction strength before measuring to avoid errors caused by shifting material.
✔ Use a precision caliper or ruler to measure from:
🔹 The CNC machine table surface (bottom reference point).
🔹 The bottom of the stone slab (top reference point).
✔ Record the measurement (H) – this is your required suction cup height.
Pro Tip: Measure multiple points across the work surface to ensure consistency, especially for large slabs.
Height (H) in mm
---
105 mm
150 mm
